Phew! At long last Term 6 has come to an end, and as Alice Cooper sang, ‘School’s out’ for the summer.
Hurrah for the Summer Holidays then! It’s been a tough old year in education and it’s a miracle we’ve all managed to get to the end in relatively one piece.
About halfway through February and there’s a subtle shift in day length. It’s no longer dark when I arrive at work and it’s still light, for a short time, when I get home. And, with blessed relief, it’s finally stopped raining…
January, and we find ourselves in the entirely predictable situation of another lockdown. We were back at school for just the one day, having been told that they were safe the day before. Then we were told to close as schools were a ‘vector of transmission’ and thus not safe. So here we go yet again!
Ah! It’s that Christmas time of the year yet again! And it’s going to be a very, very different and strange festive season than the usual one. Bristol has moved from Tier 3 to Tier 2 and back to Tier 3 within the space of a week. And with the numbers of infections going up things are only going to get worse…
It’s got to that time of the year where my working day is the only time I see daylight from Monday to Friday. Darkness greets me in the morning when I walk in and it gets dark by the time I’ve walked home. It’s a long walk…
Well! Here we are again! As Lockdown 2 draws to an end we prepare for the gloom that is Bristol in Tier Three and all that that entails. It didn’t take a genius to predict that we would end up here but it’s depressing all the same…
