Mid-August and we had a family wedding in Brighton, staying three nights in a rock n roll boutique hotel. Our room was Japanese themed and had a round bed on a platform.
Another year, another birthday. It was a nice, bright, sunny day so we decided that a long walk was the order the day. We headed up to Tortworth in South Gloucestershire as we hadn’t been there for a very long time.
The first Saturday afternoon in May and people gather to greet Jack in the Green on Horfield Common. Jack arrives to welcome the Summer in and every year there are many more people waiting for him than before.
‘Waes hael. A relatively mild and dry day to pop along to the annual Wassail at the Horfield Organic Orchard. As ever, the event attracts more visitors year on year. This reflects a growing popularity towards these old customs, especially amongst young families…
Well here we all are yet again! After several months of build up the madness of the festive season is finally upon us. Every year we swear we will spend less and consume less but there’s always a big pile of food and drink come the day.
