Ah! Guy Fawkes Night. We usually give this a miss but this year we took my daughter and granddaughter to the big fireworks display nearby. We had perfect Guy Fawkes Night weather this year, slightly chilly and dry.

Our annual trip to the top of the Mendip’s for what would be our 10th Priddy Folk Festival. It’s a well organized but nicely laid back event, and home to exceptionally good music and tasty cider.
An early start for the RHS Malvern Spring show. If you’ve never been, it’s a bit like Glastonbury Festival for gardeners but with better toilets.
It’s usually sub-zero cold or raining and muddy when the annual Wassail comes around. Fortunately the day was relatively mild if a little grey and overcast.
One of the lesser known joys of the Priddy Folk festival is the guided archaeological walk. It looks at the local history of the area and comes highly recommended.
The East coast is somewhere I’m not really familiar with at all. Walton-on-the-Naze, where we stayed, is surrounded by salt marsh and the sea. On the last day we ventured down to Clacton for the Air Show.
